When used with Mountain Horse's SCS3 Lite boots these treads give unsurpassed grip and stability in the stirrup
Grooves in the stirrup tread interact with grooves in the sole of SCS3 boots to help prevent the foot from slipping forward, without locking it in position. The treads are made from two different rubber composites. The softer, lower part is pliable to fit in the irons and provides shock-absorption for ligaments and joints. The more rigid upper part provides a stable surface for the soles of the SCS3 boots.
SCS3 Lite treads are available in an angled design to help encourage the foot into a 'heels-down' postion, or in a straight, unangled version.
These treads are perfectly suited for use with normal riding footwear but the full benefits of the SCS3 system are gained when used with SCS3 boots.
